Come As You Are

Nirvana broke when little ole me was a freshman in college. I remember wearing hose under my jeans to a party the week Nevermind exploded. If memory serves I humiliated myself by telling my secret to two hot girls who got kicks out of my drunken twin gender ramblings.

Everytime Kurt appeared in a dress it felt right. Nevermind him passing, the fact he allowed his energies and essences to mix was what was important.

  1. We must be close in age.
Just imagine what he would have went on to do if he had not fallen in love with that Drag Queen...

  2. He was - and indeed may always be an icon - because of who he was and what he did. I still see kids in Nirvana hoodies, many years since their last album.

Other than his music, the cross-dressing side of him - overlooked by the music media? - shows the flip side to being TG: you can be just as raw and as 'rock' as the next guy.

If memory serves me correctly, other rockers haven't been afraid to pin their colours to the mast: Brian Molko (Placebo) and Nicky Wire (Manic Street Preachers). I recall a guy from a thrash band, but as I can't find any articles were he 'came out' - I won't name him in case I'm wrong :)
